Hello and Welcome!

My name is Bennjamin Overholt and I am the chef behind the seasonings. My culinary journey started out back in 2010 when I first began to show a knack for cooking. Traveling to culinary school far out west in the golden hills may have been the best decision. Meeting incredible mentors, working with passionate professionals and creating unforgettable memories is why I love this industry. It's an insane amount of work that is worth it all in your strong enough. 

Thus bringing in my next passion project, Two Loons. I wanted to create a Michigan based food product company to showcase a collection of incredible flavors. I'll admit this is entirely a new world for me. I've been trained to execute dinners, run lines, organize the chaos; now its struggling to learn Adobe, generate UPC codes, website design and marketing strategies. It's a lot to take in. 

Growing up in Northern Michigan, my father would take me to the small lakes and teach me how to fish for pan fish such as Bluegill and Perch. During the fall/early winter, it was common to see deer hanging in the barn from a successful hunt. The garden we had was humble, but I can still remember how sweet the peas would taste. During the spring you can wonder into the woods to find wild ramps and morels in you were lucky. I'm fortunate to have all these great moments entwined with nature and hope to continue making memories with friends and food!     

I really want to take the time to explain who and how this was all made possible. My grandparents played a significant role to the foundational building blocks of my career to bring this to life. My grandfather owned a propane company, to him food was fuel and he liked it kept simple. Grams was an avid cook while raising four children and loved to entertain. They humored my dream to become a chef, worried I'd live the life of a starving artist. Non the less, they helped me get set up with a culinary school of my choice, trusting in doing what made me happy was more important than anything. 

So here we are with the first product release and a growing team to bring this all together. I'm very thankful for the community I live in that is as passionate about food as I am. Thank you again for taking the time to read a little about the journey and I sincerely hope you love our blends!
